Review: Golden Globes 2011

Twitter actually encourages me to write a review on this award event. Since I woke up til now that almost everyone on my timeline has tweeted pictures of dresses on the red carpet, proving me I actually live in the Social Network Era.

First of all, I would have to say this year golden globes is fashionably marvelous; lots of stars attend and most of them are fashion-savvy.

Let's talk about the overall trend on the red carpet this year, it seems like the sparkling dresses and champagne color are in!

Top 5

Jennifer Lopez in Zuhair Mura.

It's literally hard to pick my most favorite between the first and the second. However, at the end I decided to give the place to J. Lo because her look is an absolute goddess. It could be a normal plain spaghetti white dress, but with the addition of the see-through diamond-embroided chiffon, it just turns everything around.
But, just one thing. only one thing of this true-diva look that I DON'T LIKE is the make-up around her eyes. The white eye-shadow. Uh-oh.

Sandra Bullock in Jenny Packham.

It's funny enough that the designers of my both top 2 favorites are unknown to me. I kind of familiar with Ms. Lopez's but not with Sandra's.
The first time I laid my eyes on just the upper part of the dress, I die! No matter how much her hair irritates me, I would still want to die for the dress.
But, to be honest, I am a little disappointed when I see the whole gown.
Doesn't it a little bit too much? My suggestion would be to maintain the upper part of the dress but exclude the way-too-much-embroidery lower part, change it to just a normal champagne color.

Claire Danes in Calvin Klein Collection.

This is the best look out of all. Everything is perfect; the hair, the make-up, and the dress. Just perfect. As the two previous looks have at least one thing I don't like. But I love everything in Claire's look.

Leighton Meester in Burberry Prorsum.

How could I not talk about his girl?
This is surely on my favorite Leighton's look list. I love the purse, the shoes, and fabric. Very very elegant and lovely.

Olivia Wilde in Marchesa.

People are talking about her dress. This is the first dress that I've seen from the event. It looks stunning. Marchesa has never let anyone down. But only thing I don't like about the look is her hair. Wouldn't it be more suitable for the dress with other style of the hair; this is not the right fit.
Note: Oh. The shoes are fierce. Love them.

Best Hair

Kelly Osbourne.

Maybe because of this angle of the picture makes everything looks better. She just looks classic. The hair looks formal but not too formal, well-formal for the dress and an event, however, it still looks not-too-formal which goes perfectly well with her age.
I love the way the earring looks here.

And big congratulation to the loveliest mom-to-be, Natalie Portman! Looks very cute in Viktor&Rolf.

Review: Emmy Awards 2010

It's this time of the year again, Oscar of the TV industry, Emmy Awards. The stars attended might be more difficult to recognize but the red carpet fashion is worth reviewing. ;)

MY MOST FAVORITE!

Actually, it's so hard to choose just one. But here you go, Kristin Wiig. I love how she takes the risk by wearing this graphic gown. I love the ruffle shoulders, and I love the patterns.

MY NIGHTMARE.

Really. I dress is stunning if you look closer to each detail separately, yes separately. The face is beautiful and that earring is glamorous. However, there is something that I feel don't right, maybe the color is.. too gold.

Consolation prize.
Love love love this look! Love everything here from the vintage Jean-Louis Scherrer Haute Couture dress to the Jimmy Choo heels and to the hair acessory.

One of my favorite since I only saw the upper-half of this Marchesa dress.
But, the reason why I didn't make her my favorite is because I don't impress on how she stood when she was interviewed with her hubby. This may sound ridiculous, but I expect more from the supermodel! She should know how to make the best post.

Kelly O is soooo Marilyn Monroe! She's gracious and classy in Tony Ward.

This Zac Posen gown is magnificent. I love the color so much.

Well, this is something I would wear. I love this Yigal Azrouël black&white gown so much, especially the upper part.

BONUS.

Emily Blunt had never ever let me down but this time. To be honest, the Dior gown is not that bad but it's not what I expected from her. I'd give a credit for her of taking the risk of changing her look to very sweet girl.
However, didn't impress me.

Betty White is the CUTEST!!!!

Kristen Stewart Rufflely Cool !

This is the first time she impressed me. The ruffle dress from Marchesa is magnificent and it looks good on her!!! For the first time!!!

All the way, there were two ways: 1) Don't look down to see the dress. 2) Don't look up to her face.

Frankly, who would think that the girl who can ruin Chanel couture dress could bring the dress out!

Fashion Review.

Hello fellows, as I've seen many celebs' pics this week (mostly from 2010 amfAR Cinema Against Aids gala), I kind of want to make a comment about them. So.. here we go ;P

Our first lady is Camilla Belle in Gucci. I love this look of her. The lipstick's color is one of my all time favorite, it helps make the overall look neither too plain nor dark. Her face is beautiful so I don't often see her make up faux pas. She doesn't let me down this time;)

The next lady is Michelle Williams in Sonia Rykiel. The dress is nice, though I am not a big fan of the hair and make up, but the overall is acceptable.

Modonna, to me, has never considered as a style icon (sometimes I even wonder why anyone does). To me, she is a better version of Britney Spears. The ex-Mrs. Guy Richie is a true risk-taker, she is willing to take a fashion risk and most of the time she fails to impress me.

Jennifer Lopez walk the grey carpet with her hubby, Mark Antony, in Roberto Cavalli. She is my newly favorite celeb with style. With her recent red-carpet looks, they are so impressive. She looks really stunning!

Kristen Dunst is the kind of woman who can pull things off. She can wear anything and still looks chic. With her unique personality that makes those risks she's taken not fail to be impressive. Frankly, this Chanel gown can caused fashion faux pas to someone else, but indeed not Mrs. Spider Man.

The US's First Lady is my favorite out of all, in Peter Sorensen gown from Fall 2008 collection. I could say this is the best look of her!

My pretty Rachel Bilson has never ever let me down! She looks stunning in Chanel Couture Fall 2009. To be honest, I don't feel familiar with this dress but this is one of my favorite:)

The hotel heiress and infamous party girl, Paris Hilton, looks princess-like.

O My Godness. Diane Kruger in Chanel. I swear this is the worst dress ever made from the great fashion house! What happened with Miss Kruger? She is one of the ladies with style but ever since the previous Oscar, she has messed things up, and sadly with Chanel again...

Naomi Campbell is marvelous! She just rocks the L'Wren Scott dress, and I'm glad she took the risk, it's all worth it.

Kate Beckinsale = J. Lo from '10 Oscar + Kate Hudson from '10 Oscar

To me, Mischa Barton WAS my favorite style icon, but well, it was in the past. However, here, she rocks the Chanel gown.

An English star, Emily Blunt, looks fabulous in Georges Chakra Edition Fall 2010 scarlet gown. I love this look of her. She matches well with the color of scarlet.

I love Vanessa Paradis in the new Coco Coccon collection for Chanel (and sure enough!) from Chanel party in Cannes.

The MET Ball 2010

My first post ever would be about the MET Ball.

To be honest, I hadn't really paid much attention to this event these past years, but this year I couldn't resist. There are tons of famous figures in many fields gathered for this event. It's cool to make a red carpet fashion review. It's even more interesting than the Oscar which is considered one of the greatest red carpet event.

I'd love to start with Jennifer Lopez, the mother of two kids, well.. to be exact.. the twins.
Her dressed is Zuhair Murad's. It's stunning and looked so great on her. I'm not J. Lo's biggest fan, honestly, I don't like her style that much. But this dress is just... marvellous!

Katy Perry rocked the night! Her dress is unique and I wouldn't say it's my style but the neon's COOL! It's nice that someone trys to do something different, something creative.

I have to admit I have never seen Jessica Stam this beautiful like that night. Everything's just perfect. Her hair, her make up, her dress, esp her jewelry. Love it!

Another of my favorites of the night, Anne Hathaway in Valentino. Her fashion sense seems to be gradually developed since the Devil Wears Prada.

I love SJP! Her dress is Halston Heritage. I love how she matched it with that hair accessory. Cute but yet sophisticated. She's sure kept up her standard.

Kate Bosworth in Valentino. A bit too plain but I like it.

Sienna Miller wore Emilio Pucci. She is the sweetest, the cutest! She always pulls things off, everyting's become stylish when they're on her body.
Sienna and Jude Law is my ideal couple in term of fashion.. repeat FASHION.

There are some more people whom I have to say I'm sorry for not being to provide the links to their photos.
First one is Coco Rocha. I've never like her but she's so pretty and I love her dress at the event.
Vera Wang looked marvellous!
Alexa Chung, just very unique. It could be the end for some people but she pulled it off! Very impressive.
Zoe Kravtiz is the newly style icon I've just discovered at the event. Oh.. ok.. not booing, please. I know I don't know either what planet I'd lived.. Yeah. She looked very chic that night.

'Lanvin' is still 'IN' for the red carpet, Naomi Watts and Emma Roberts looked splendid in them.

Here we go, arriving at the list of people who I detest their looks.

I would go for Kristen Stewart frist. She is just perfect for Rock n' Roll.. ermm.. kind of appearance. I don't know. She just suits it. With her emo hair and everything just tells me so.. I love her in Twilight. She's really pretty but not like.. not now.. with the emo feel and her attitude just... not... my kind of girl.

Jessica Alba, she just disappointed me because less than a week before, she attended the White House event with an impressive look.

Taylor Swift is beautiful. And.. I wouldn't say she has a great style but.. I would rather say she makes the right choices most of time. And, this time it just looked like she was ready for bed. No offense, the dress is beautiful but I just got the feeling of a nightgown.

I've never felt like Emma Watson is a huge style icon like.. well, most of the people do. Her body  just not the type that pulls off the clothes. The clothes are nice but it could nicer on other's bodies. Her shoulders just, to me, very broad and they make the clothes less stylish. Anyway, her dress at the event is not impressive. It's just plain. She could do better!
