Fall Ready-To-Wear 2013: Sydney Fashion Week Recap.

Dear Audiences

Strange but true.
It's happened to me that when I'm attracted to some fashion figures, the whole fashion scene of that particular nation is started to be attractive to me too.

In this case is Australia.
I have huge style crush on Christine Centenera of Vogue Australia. I had seen her through street style photographs for many fashion seasons before I knew her name.

And, it is quite interesting how so many Aussie fashion brands worth to be obsessed over.
Dion Lee, of which I discovered through Instagram, is one of my current favorites right now. The pieces are available on Net-A-Porter, in case you might want to check them out.

Well. Come back to our agenda today. It's Sydney fashion week! Let's see my selective recap for you guys. (note: it's actually my first time exploring Australia's fashion scene as well)

Alice McCall

I specially love the structure of the clothes, designs, and the prints! Love love love! This collection inspires me to do this recap because I couldn't resist the urge to share these beautiful pieces.

Alex Perry

Thigh boots are currently the it-items for several seasons, and now that the world has summer as well, here comes the thigh-length gladiator heels. They are so sophisticated. I do love!
I love how they're well-styled with the clothes in this collection which could otherwise have a possibility in mix&match failure. Also, I love the use of laces, however, some pieces remain me a little of Victoria Beckham's, no?

Romance Was Born

Nothing to say. Please just view the collection. It's the freakish-est collection ever!

Karla Spetic

Very much in love! For me, this collection captures the spirits of Aussie fashion from what I've observed - the see-through materials used with skirts and lots-of-skin-revealing pieces of clothes, along with the use of black, white, and vivid colours.
Highly recommended to surf through, you shouldn't regret.

Suboo

Last but not least, this collection is again carrying all the Aussie-fashion spirits.
Notice these creative designs of skirts and shorts? They're originally come from this continent.
I do love the designs and colour palette. But, what I love the most is the print! It's so beautiful mimicking how the lights shade on crystal glass creating rainbow in greyish shade. So stunning!

A.W.A.K.E. by Natalia Alaverdian Fall RTW 2013: Avant Garde Practice

Dear Audiences

Apology for the lack of update, recently. I've been quite busy, and finally the holidays have arrived upon me!

The first post after my long absent is to introduce you to this amazing Avant Garde designer to whom gives me a sense of Comme Des Garcon and all those Japanese designers of this type.
Normally, I don't really much appreciated this kind of design, but because of the use of materials which is uncommon for this style, I would say she has my interest, and will have my attention for the collections to come.

Natalia Alaverdian is the latest Russian talent I got to discover. Her collection under the brand called 'A.W.A.K.E. by Natalia Alaverdian' does give me a sense of Japanese girl in coolest uniforms ever! I specially love the red plaids and michelin materials.

FAVORITE ONE!

A.W.A.K.E. by Natalia Alaverdian

Balenciaga Fall RTW 2013: New Reign, New Dawn!

Dear Audiences

How else in the world could I not talk about the collection of the season which everyone wants to see?

Came with a sudden resign announcement from my beloved Ghesquiere, and impressively fast replacement of Alex Wang, it was quite a dramatic period of Balenciaga. The Pre-fall 2013 collection was expected to have an added value of Ghesquiere-design for the house of Balenciaga, just like other of his previous collections.

Anyhow, what must be done, has been done.
Change is always in fashion, no matter how much most of us hate that fact.

Alexander Wang has successfully made a name of his own before the prestigious job was fallen onto his lap, which is a rare thing to happen in the industry.

His first Balenciaga collection is very praiseworthy. It shows how much he understands the brand and its DNA; which expresses through his structural designs which are all very Balenciaga.

But the question is, are those things the meanings Nicolas Ghesquiere defines?
As we should not forget that the house was closed for almost 20 years before it reopened again and Ghesquiere was the hero who brought the brand back to life.

Things which I have been waiting/dying to see more than anything are accessories.

As we all know how superbly popular Alexander Wang bags and shoes are, and many say he is just right for the job because of his brilliant talent in this particular area.

It aligns well with the house's accessories orientation, of which theirs has become the IT items of every season; from motorcycle bag to the "Darth Vader" hat.

Love this!

Loveeee the combination!

The heels are obviously killers! Both to the wearers and to the spectators.

Marbles are marvelous!

 Giles

If you have seen a good amount of my looks, you will know that this collection is made for me. But, don't you worry if you are not a fan of dark forces/Gothic like me. The collection is full of pink and gold with beautiful designs, as well as black and white on pale/sick-face models.

Alexandre Herchcovitch Fall Ready-to-Wear 2013: The Uncommon Beauties.

Dear Audiences

Every season, I love to discover designers whom I have never heard of before. And, Alexandre Herchcovitch is one of the many I would love to introduce to you.

This New York-based designer is nothing new to the fashion scene. He has a good amount of shows, but again, it's my shame not to be aware of this before.

I was captured by the first dress of this collection. It makes me want to see more, and I was not let down, indeed.

I love how he adds details to the simple-yet-chic designs, and totally am in love with the way he plays with the sleeves; wearing just one sleeve letting another fall behind, and how they hung down looking like parts of the skirts' design.
Much much love with the prints! Stripes, un-girly floral, and the combination of the two!
